3 Must Have Tips for Disneyland Vacations

So there are probably a million tips you could give for someone about to plan a family trip to Disneyland but I have narrowed it down to 3 must have tips to consider.

1.) Pick The Right Days – This is hands down the number one thing to get right when planning a trip to Disneyland.  You could mess up all the other tips from this article and any other and still have a good vacation if you pick the right days to go.  I have been to Disneyland on busy days and days where the park is nice and calm.  This is important not just for cutting down your wait time in lines, but for the overall experience and feel of the park.  When it’s crowded in there you can’t even stop and enjoy the scenes and the props that help make up the experience.  Use a website that will help you pick the right times to go.  TouringPlans.com has a good guide system to help you choose.  Based on past statistics they are quite accurate and predicting the craziness of Disneyland.  They use a rating system of 1 – 10, where 10 is the most crowded days.  I would recommend choosing days that are a 6 or less.  View there tool here.

2.) Utilize Fast Pass –  Most people who visit Disneyland do not properly utilize their Fast Pass system.  If your in Disneyland on a busy day, you could wait in line all day and only get on 5 or 6 rides.  That’s because the wait time can easily top one hour.  By the time you factor in potty breaks, eating, and walking around, your day is gone.  There are some online guides that get really detailed and complex for utilizing the Fast Pass system but I will leave that to them.  Here are a couple important things to keep in mine.  A.) You can hold a Fast Pass ticket for a ride at Disneyland and California Adventures at the same time.  B.) Always try to get another Fast Pass ticket to a different ride before you go to use your Fast Pass ticket.

3.) Find A Good App – Smart phones are awesome.  Find a good app that will tell you what the wait time currently are and plan your rides around that.  I’ve used the Mouse Wait app and it was pretty good a giving live wait times for all of the rides.  Once again, this helps keep you out of waiting in line so much.

Hope this helps…
